A fun, provocative, and entertaining dialogue with an award winning cast, these ladies are raising the curtain to talk about the POCKETBOOK, the label black women affectionately describe as the triangle between their thighs.

The term, "pocketbook," was used by many older African-American women when the subject of sexuality was discussed privately. Inspired by Sheryl Lee Ralph's, Sometimes I Cry and following the blueprint established by Eve Ensler, author Sharon K. McGhee keeps the woman-of-color female perspective front and center. The Pocketbook Monologues has started a movement with a mission of empowering and entertaining women of color about HIV/Aids.

YYP and Associates' Pocketbook tour will continue to raise awareness and funds to alleviate domestic violence against women and girls, along with McGhee's primary focus on sexual responsibility and HIV/Aids awareness. All proceeds from the tour will be donated to Butterflies Fly Free, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 organization committed to ending violence against women and girls and a special honorarium to assist the Carolyn Thomas Foundation.

Last year we were invited to perform The Vagina Monologues (TVM) on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise and although it was a resounding success, Tom Joyner asked actress Ella Joyce why we couldn't change some of the words so that the vernacular represented our culture. Over the last eight (8) years that we've produced TVM, we've been asked that question several times and YYP is proud to partner with Pocketbook creator, Sharon K. McGhee, who has started a movement with women of color in mind.
